Naomi provided a professional and personal service to both the management team and the retrenched employees.  The impact of the restructure and subsequent redundancies was lessened by the coaching and feedback that Naomi provided as part of the planning process.

The level of understanding around moving dates and time frames helped to ease the pressure I was under as the coordinator of the restructure.  Naomi made herself available for phone calls and meetings and was understanding of our changes in dates and times – often at short notice.

I would be more than happy to recommend the services of CIQ and in particular Naomi Lawrence.  The advice was spot on, the value was great and the support priceless.

I had my interview Monday and was offered the position that evening!  Just wanted to drop you a line to let you know and thank you again for your help.  Whilst I was probably a front runner for the position (as I've been acting in the role for the past year), I did ask the panel for feedback on both my application and resume which was extremely positive including that it was clear, concise and accurately addressed the KSC.  In fact, one panel member asked if I'd mind if they took a copy of my resume to utilise the layout as they were that impressed with it……so thank you!!!!

Ken Matthews

Following Kens' decision to advise his intention to leave his previous employment, it was agrred for both parties to work through a transition period. His employer angaged CI-Q Career Intelligence to assist and guide Ken through the process to new employment.

Naomi guided him through the Career Transition Process such as letting go of the past and looking ahead. As part of this process, the main Career Anchors were identified including;
 - Autonomy / Independence
 - Entrepreneurial Creativity
 - Pure Challenge
These career anchors have proved to be critical in reviewing his own " Ideal Work Fit Criteria".

Another area that assisted greatly was revisiting career highlights and successes, that added to a confident and professional presentation at interviews.

Ken is now faced with the dilemma of choosing between several options, using the best fit selection criteria developed.

C-IQ has been instrumental in reaching his employment goals.

regards

Ken Matthews

Engaging the services of C-IQ was to assist the Gold Coast Water PA Team in career transition, self actualization and restructure support strategies.  To date this has been extremely beneficial to the participants both in a group session and individual consultations with Naomi.   Each participant is at a different level of acceptance and need within their respective careers and personnel lives. Drawing on the expertise of C-IQ has effectively opened communication channels and thought processes towards a clearer vision on how individual roles, responsibilities and actions/reactions contribute to the bigger picture.

I was particularly impressed with the ability of C-IQ to take the emotion out of the equation through their immediate interaction with the staff member following the redundancy notice. This greatly assisted the ability to restore a harmonious work place almost immediately

When the Career Training Scheme and the Reds were recruiting for a new Career Advisor mid last year, they wanted a person with a high work ethic, well networked within the careers and business sector, and a person who would take the CTS to a new level of professionalism.  Naomi has successfully achieved this and more during her 18 months in the role.  Her extremely high levels of commitment and professionalism have allowed her to take the Scheme to a new level where is well integrated within the players group, the Reds Service Team as well as the QRU as an organisation.

I have known Naomi Lawrence since January 2006.

Naomi is the Careers and Training Advisor at Queensland Reds. The Reds have quite a young and immature playing staff. Naomi's role in the organisation to help guide these young players off the field is enormously important.

She is extremely dedicated to her job. Naomi goes "beyond the call" to ensure that the players have appropriate education programs or access to post-rugby career opportunities.

Naomi has a good rapport with the players. She makes every effort to get to know the players well. Naomi also helps outside her portfolio - counselling staff on a range of life issues and supporting in team projects, Naomi is always eager to help.

Naomi is always keen to improve herself, she is a dedicated professional who would be an asset for any organisation.

"I am pleased to be able to offer a sincere testimonial to support the excellent professional relationship that I have developed with Naomi Lawrence through her work with RUPA and the Queensland Reds. As a former elite athlete myself but now in the role of encouraging this same group of high achievers to pursue educational opportunities, I've seen the impact that Naomi has had on her clients. There are two things that I consider really important when working in this field: the most important quality is a genuine concern for client welfare and outcomes, borne out of a sense of real enthusiasm and zest for the job. The second criteria is to understand that each person is a unique individual with different buttons that need to be pushed."

Nic Berry
Queensland Reds Player

"Naomi's enthusiatic and professional attitude has greatly helped me in pursuing possible career paths post professional sport. Her dedication and extensive experience in career pathway options has motivated me into undertaking tertiary study in Business and Education as a plan "B" career in Property Development and Construction. She also identified and introduced appropriate memberships (UDIA) which has proved to be outstanding in networking outside of my sport. Naomi is easy to talk to, always available and ready to listen as well as provide valuable information and advice. I am grateful for her knowledge and understanding in working with elite athletes and the valuable link she provides in the corporate world."

"I was fortunate to have Naomi Lawrence as a careers advisor during the final year of my rugby playing career. I found Naomi to be extremely professional and dedicated in her position and her support was invaluable. She helped me evaluate and understand my own situation and the options that were available and more suitable to me. Her enthusiasm and encouragement helped me to make some tough decisions about a career change that I had been contemplating for some time. There was no issue with regard to career management or training that Naomi was not able to provide advice and assistance with in a meaningful and beneficial way."

I would like to say that it was something I should have done YEARS AGO! I can now see that I have been "off track" for some time now and all I needed was professional advice and guidance. Just in the one visit to see you (about 1 hour) I felt that it uncovered a lot that I needed to know about myself. It gave me confidence to know that there wasn't anything wrong with me just because I found myself in job situations that simply did not suit my wants, personality or aspirations.

The information and advice you gave was very relevant and to the point. I felt that your experience gave me confidence that you could help me....and you did. Through activities you gave me to fill out and your verbal advice, questioning and comments it made me feel good to know that "I'm okay" there's nothing wrong with me, I've just found myself in jobs that aren't quite my fit.

I realise that I'm a person with a sensitive, intuitive, social nature and I prefer to have a relaxed schedule with people around me that can laugh and be supportive. The work/lifestyle/family balance is very important to me. Now that I know all these things add up to who I am (and that's okay), I can confidently work on the job that fits me.

Well in my case now I have decided after making a list of what I like and dislike about my present job I realised there were only 3 things I liked about the job. 1. I have a good boss 2. the hours are a little flexible and 3. there are a variety of tasks that I do, so it avoids boredom There was quite a few more things I disliked about the job, weighted heavily against my perfect job. But I have negotiated with my boss for more pay, a rostered day off and improvements in some procedures that are "painful", so I'm going to sit tight for now and see how it pans out. If things go "wobbly" at work again & I feel it just isn't for me I will definitely see you again. Thank you for your help.

Having utilized your services to conduct exit interviews for our company we are happy to recommend your services. We believe that outsourcing responsibility for exit interviews and reporting not only saves our resources for focusing on our core business but has many benefits for our company including the following:
  • Helps reduce staff turnover by providing accurate and objective information on why people are leaving
  • Having a third party conduct these interviews provides constructive feedback and ensures honest responses which could not be achieved other than the neutrality provided by a third party
  • The reporting you provide helps us recognize how our policies and management decisions impact on staff retention and enables us to make effective retention decisions
  • Allows both parties a better understanding of each other by mediation and negotiation ensuring that staff leave on good terms with our organisation
Thank you for your assistance.

Naomi Lawrence provided invaluable assistance to me when making the career transition from professional coaching to a corporate career. The value came not so much from the personal evaluation tools provided but more from the insightful, challenging conversations that followed them. It was through her experience and ability to challenge my conventional thoughts that I was able to thoughtfully work through a number of prospective job offers.

Also her long term career planning philosophy and strategies has already got me thinking of how best to position myself to take advantage of any future career opportunities that may eventuate.

"I went away from our meeting, this afternoon, feeling understood and very confident in your abilities and a hopeful outcome to this predicament I find myself in. I wanted to let you know that I am very impressed with your work history and experience but more so, with you. Thank you for taking me on as a client and have an enjoyable evening."

"What Naomi & Brian did for me was wonderful in those first moments after the news. They showed they cared. They gave support and encouragement. They kept in touch. They were extremely resourceful and helpful. They put a vital positive spin on the situation and made you look forward, not backward. They provided guidelines and focus. Their experience and knowledge were undeniably crucial in my finding my "perfect" role. I don't believe I could have gone as far as I did in my "transition period" without their advice and assistance. They provide an essential service to those who are confronted with such a major life-changing circumstance and I am forever grateful to them both for being there for me."

Kaitlyn is doing exceptionally well on every level I am happy to report .We regularly refer back to the meeting with you and it certainly has formed a good basis for discussion on which direction Kaitlyn might take educationally and then how. I think the big point that she took away from you is to relax a bit and just keep doing what she is doing and she'll end up in the right place as there sure is a lot of pressure to do it right and get it right without the poor kids having any real tools on board to do this.

Kaitlyn has more confidence than previously as she's not looking at how hard it is to get into any given course, but rather what interests her and happy that there will be a way through the system - again - takes the pressure off.
I know Kaitlyn would love another chat with you as I am sure she would have a whole new set of questions and directions to discuss.
